Today we will begin in r journals with the following:
Work for 10 min. on your DREAM project.
1. Ponyboy was leader of his group in the book.
2. Two-bit was extremely happy in spite of his circumstances.
3. The class elected Bob president of the eighth grade.
CD Sentences: Use the following two simple sentences to combine in each of the three ways to make a CD sentence:
Living in a utopian society seemed like a great idea. It wasn't such a good idea after all.
I will come around and assign you a number (1-3). If you are a number 1, your group will join to check CD sentence #1 together. You will then create two simple sentences and combine them using a comma and a conjunction. #2's will do the same, only using a semicolon. #3's will use a ; connective adverb, comma. These will be written on the back board. Please underline each SN and V in simple sentences AND CD sentence.
We will also review your utopian essays using the video below. what do you learn about verb tense?
We will then move on to some pre-reading thought-provoking questions as we begin thinking about r new novel.
