good morning!
please hand in your essays (bottom pocket)...2nd draft stapled on top please. I am changing things up a bit this morning. Please bring your Dare to Dream booklet with you. We are going to use it. Please have your journal as well, and be ready to think about your dreams. Today we will begin in r journals with the following: CD Sentences: Use the following two simple sentences to combine in each of the three ways to make a CD sentence: Living in a utopian society seemed like a great idea. It wasn't such a good idea after all. 1. (,but) 2. (;) 3. (;however,) I will come around and assign you a number (1-3). If you are a number 1, your group will join to check CD sentence #1 together. You will then create two simple sentences and combine them using a comma and a conjunction. #2's will do the same, only using a semicolon. #3's will use a ; connective adverb, comma. These will be written on the back board. Please underline each SN and V in simple sentences AND CD sentence. Next we will work on a WORD ANALYSIS lesson If you are: Claire, Henry (I need to have you take your ISIPS test) we will then move into an EDITING assignment as well. We will then move on to some pre-reading thought-provoking questions as we begin thinking about r new novel.
