good morning!
today we will begin with 5 min. too finish you're persuasive paragraph and then you will hand them in. you will then trade with a buddy, and identify each of the 7 parts of a persuasive paragraph by creating your own key and labeling the paragraph. (Ex.: underlined=Part 1, circled=Part 2 etc.) then we will read a CHOICES article that will be relevant to our conversation last week. your job will be to choose a topic (may or may not be inspired by CHOICES) to write a persuasive essay. Requirements: 7 paragraphs (be certain to include each part of a persuasive essay in your essay) You will work on brainstorming this topic and begin gathering your thoughts and discussing for 8 min. Then we will move on to the SHurley grammar lesson. You will work on your essay on your own time, and the rough draft will be due at the end of class on Tuesday. I will give you about 15 min. in class to work on Tues. next please work on worldly wise if time we will move on to a grammar lesson (possessives and compound sentences) Homework: WW Lesson 2 (due at beginning of class on Thur. (9/26) Writing: First draft of persuasive essay due at end of class on Tues. (9/24)
