Good mourning! We will have a journal check today (Thursday), so at the end of class, the three amigos will check your journals to make sure they are ready.
We will begin with a journal prompt: Date: 3.7.11 Prompt: Describe a significant part of the text to you in Ch. 10. Why do you believe this is significant? Explain. Time: 5 min. Then we will review vocabulary (from ch. 6-10). Vocabulary: You will use the Vocabulary Notebook (Ch. 6-10), creating your own original sentence for the following words on the graphic organizer: interdependence, relinquish, acquisition, exempted, intricate. Novel Study: Focus: Summarize, reflect and discuss connections to self, other text and the world, and communicate through digital means. First, read Ch. 11-13. As you read, add two more quotes from each chapter (or a total of 6) to your Dialectical Journal. Next: You will be assigned a buddy to read ch. 11-13 with. i will assign each pair a chapter from the book (1-13). Together you will create a Power Point or Google Slide Show to represent that chapter. Include the following: 1. A quote that is significant from that chapter and be prepared to explain why you chose that (refer to Dialectical Journal) 2. Two vocabulary words that are significant and explain their meaning 3. At least one visual 4. Music (may/may not include lyrics) but must hold significance 5. Explain the relationship of text to self, other text or the world. We will show these in class on Tuesday and use them to promote discussion for Socratic Seminar on Tuesday. Homework: (I will give you time on Tuesday to work on this!) Finish Power Point/Google Slide Show/Prezi: You will have the entire class on Tuesday to prepare before you present. See below for chapter assignments. Dreams Project: This will be due on Thursday as well, but you will have time to work on this on Tuesday in class (due 3/21). 3.11.19 Good morning! please choose a group of desks with your buddy from the power point project. today we will begin with dictation and shirley (will hand this to you) so please have you're journals ready (they r waiting four u on the black cart). then, i will provide you the rest of class to work on your power point projects and your dreams projects. if u run out of work, please work on istation or read ahead. you will present your chapter presentations on thursday. Date: Shurley: Patterns 4-7 1. My favorite tiny car is the Fiat. 2. Wow! He looks very grouchy in that photo. 3. The teacher elected him citizen of the month. 4. We consider the view breathtaking!
