Focus: Mixed Sentence Patterns and Compound Sentences
Prompt: We will use the following simple sentences to create three different types of compound sentences.
Jonas became the new Giver. He was exposed to new feelings and memories.
1. This book is eye-opening!
2. The community appointed Jonas the Giver.
3. He was reluctant to receive memories in the book.
we will begin with shurley and then move on to novel study
Read: Ch. 10 as a class. Consider the effect of being The Giver. What physical/emotional effects may that have on a person with that job?
