today we will review sentence types & than u will have an activity with a partner. If you finish you're activity u will have time to work on appreciation notes. please sit quietly with nothing on your desk but a pencil. love mrs p Sentence Sort Directions: 1. Materials: pencil, 11x17 paper, scissors, sentences to sort, tape (later as needed) 2. Place the headings (Simple, Compound, Complex) on the top of the sheet 3. Determine the Simple and Compound Sentences and place them in the appropriate categories. 4. The remaining sentences will be placed in the Complex category. 5. Before you tape them, check with another group who is finished to make sure you agree on the categories. 6. Challenge: If you are finished or waiting for another group, try to determine what makes a Complex Sentence by looking for patterns. OR, you may write your own sentences in the Simple and Compound categories.
