wee will be playing a game to practice for words to go test u need a expo marker and pensil on you're desk and your 'how-to' list whithin you're desk Words to Go: Test over Lesson 4 only Please hand your test to Sam and your homework ("How-to") to Wes. Then, you need a pencil and a few colors (markers/highlighters/colored pencils). Be prepared for instruction. Thanks! We will then to the following activity: Directions: You will have twelve minutes with each resource. These are the tasks for each one: Page 298: Follow the directions. Then, working backward, list the steps as a brief list (numbered points in your own words). Page 299: Make a vertical line and separate this section into two categories. Label the left side "Transition Words" and the right side "Imperative Sentences". Then, go on a transition word hunt, writing them on the table. Next, find all of the imperative sentences in this essay and write them in the "Imperative Sentence" category. Be certain to to check conventions and copy the entire sentence. Page 300: (You may organize this section creatively. Just be certain to answer the following questions. You do NOT need to write the question, but you do need to label each question with 1, 2 or 3 so I can find your answers easily. Use part of the question in your answer for questions one and two. Questions: 1. What is expository writing? 2. Why is audience important in writing? 3. Write two different examples of introduction sentences for how to do something of your choice. Remember to find creative ways to hook the reader. Page 301: Answer the following questions using part of the question in your answer: (you do NOT need to write the question). 1. What is chronological order, and why is it important in a body paragraph? 2. What advice would you give someone about writing a conclusion? Then skip Activity A, but do Activity B in your booklet.
