today we will begin with something totally different... welcome back! today we will begin with r journal's. u will need your DARE TO DREAM notebook, your journal, and a great attitude! Then stay tuned for instruction. First, read through your dream book. What quotes stand out to you? What pages do you want to start writing in? Then, we are going to read an article in the CHOICES magazine. Now, what are your thoughts? Journal: Focus: Where are you going in life? What are you going to dream and accomplish starting right now? Prompt: Draw or write about what you plan to accomplish in life. You may have one goal or 57 goals...write them all, and be as detailed as you can! Feel free to illustrate, write, etc.. This is for you to start planning the rest of your awesome life! Consider barriers. What will come up to knock you down, and how will you get past those? If you would like a graphic organizer to help you organize your ideas, let me know. Please don't feel limited by this. This can relate to your personal life, your future education or career, your family, where you plan to live, who you plan to help, etc. Just DREAM!!! Then, it's Shurley in you're journal's. Date: Focus: Pattern 2,3,4 with fishbone 1. Tom likes Amy. 2. Tom gave Sid a hard time. 3. Aunt Polly is Tom's funny old aunt. a quick round of review for ch. 11-12 (in game form). u will need 1 sticky note (which I will hand out). your job will be to choose one of the following options: 1. write one truth about ch. 11 or 12 OR 2. write one lie about ch. 11 or 12 don't share these with anyone, but rather, bring them to me when u finish them and as you do, I will assign you a number which will correspond with your team number Homework: (Wed.) Writing: Second draft of story due Friday (run through Grammarly and attach to front of first draft) we will also work on an EDITING sheet as a class. you will have 10 min. to work on your own. please make sure this is placed in your journal. Then we will take notes: Notes: First, highlight/underline what you think is most important on your note sheet. Then, as you watch the video, make a list of a minimum of 5 new things that you learn (or learned better) from the video (or the note sheet). If you already were familiar, write 5 important things that you would tell someone who didn't know how to use dialogue in their writing. Focus: Punctuation Rules with Dialogue Prompt: Watch the instructional video and write the rules for dialogue Next: Revise the story on the back of the note sheet. Use this information to help you edit your stories that will be handed in on Friday. I will be conferencing with you about your istation scores as well. Next, read ch. 13 as a class.
