Journals (podium to be graded: make sure homonyms packet and writing has been taped in your journal from Tues. homework) Then we will take your test. You will need a lined piece of paper and pencil. You will create a word bank for your WTG words and a separate word bank for the homonyms that we have been practicing. Directions for test: Use each WTG word in a sentence and UNDERLINE. Use ONE of each homonym pair in a sentence and CIRCLE. You may incorporate more than one WTG word and/or a homonym in each sentence. Good Morning!

We will start with a Quick-Write: Quick-Write: Focus: Punctuation/Detail-I will be checking punctuation and grammar, so please remember to use homonyms appropriately and include end punctuation! Prompt: (Use the image below) Think Time: 2 min. Write Time: 10 min. After you write, you will be sharing your writing in your groups. You will rotate your journal clockwise. Please do the following at each rotation: (if you get your journal back, rotate once more so that you are not editing your own) #1: Write a compliment and sign your name #2: Check all homonyms (paying special attention to the ones we have worked on in class). Circle any errors that you find. #3: Check the spelling of all words that you are unsure of (use dictionary, NOT Chromebook) (Underline any spelling errors that you find). #4: Find all end punctuation. Mark where the end punctuation is missing (if at all). #5: Discuss your stories as an entire group. Does anyone want to share with the entire class?
