good morning!
today we will begin by sharing our theme songs. I would love some of u to share with the class if u r comfortable. Next, we will revisit the articles we began on Tuesday. Your task list: 1. Highlight or circle all words that you are unfamiliar with and define them (either with your own definition or a picture) 2. Read the article and get the gist of it. Then turn to a buddy in your group who does NOT have the same article, and share your thoughts with them. 3. Re-read and underline the most important sentence from each paragraph. 4. Meet with someone who HAS read the same article you are reading, and see if you agree on the most importance sentences from each paragraph. If not, come to a consensus on which one you would choose if you had to choose only one. Mark that sentence by putting a squiggly line underneath. 5. Go back to the title of the article and determine why you believe the author gave it that title. If you would change it, re-title it. If you like it how it is, give a brief explanation of why you like it next to the title. 6. Summarize the article in one complete paragraph. Then meet with someone who read a DIFFERENT article and give them your summary to read. (Do NOT talk about it...just read each other's summaries). 7. Write any questions or comments you have about their summary in their journal. Sign your name. 8. Prepare for a Socratic seminar in the following manner: (use bookmark below)
