Novel Study: Choose the novel that you would like to read. You will begin planning your group's meetings and what will be accomplished at each meeting (including reading and lit. circle job assigned). This will mean that even if you are absent, you will know what you need to accomplish for each class. Due Date: Book must be finished on 3/13 Alternative Assignment: Novel Study: Magic Treehouse Choose the novel that you would like to read. Fill out your group meeting planner and plan how much reading you will do each class. Homework: Novel Study: Read assigned reading and do lit. circle job (due Fri. at beginning of class). Friday's Agenda: Library Istation: Today, those who have not finished ISIPS reading will finish while the rest of the class works ahead on lit. circle jobs or reads independently. Novel Study: Today your first lit. circle job is due. We will share this job and the job that is due on Monday, in lit. circles on Monday. Homework: Novel Study: Read assigned reading and do lit. circle job (due Mon. at beginning of class). We will share two jobs on Monday, since we didn't get to share jobs on Friday.

Hand back Friday's assignment to place in journal. Agree/Disagree activity: Please have your 10 statements ready in your journal and set up seats in theater seating to the front with an aisle. Wednesday's Agenda (1/29): Novel Study: Read Ch. 22-28 (finish the book) in class. Add five statements or questions to your journal to prepare for Socratic Seminar on Fri. during the last half of class. Homework: Novel Study: Finish the book, write statements/questions for Socratic Seminar on Friday (due Fri.) Also, begin planning your final project for TSB which will be due on Fri. 2/7 Friday's Agenda (1/31) Library: Novel Study: We will have Socratic Seminar today. You will use your remaining statements/questions to start/use in conversations during Socratic Seminar. Also, you may want to begin working on final projects for TSB (see link above in header). Wednesday's Agenda: Re-read through Ch. 21. (Start where you remember leaving off. Label your journal with Third Quarter. Answer the questions on the worksheet (Ch. 17-20) as you read and tape it in your journal. Friday's Agenda: Library Then complete the journal prompt: Make a list of 10 statements that people could either agree or disagree with in Touching Spirit Bear thus far (up through Ch. 21). We are going to use these in a review game. Then, work on finishing the book. We will work on final projects for the book. For a list of options, click the link above in the header.
